A big thank you to the Braemar Golf Club who have kindly donated some £10 off vouchers for us to distribute to our golfing guests. Braemar golf course is the highest golf course in Britain - 1,200 ft above sea level. It is a relatively short course (4935) but will test golfers of any standard. We would like to thank all the members who visited the members enclosure during the course of the game fair. We were invited to provide the catering along with The Storehouse at Fowlis Ferry and what an experience it was! Our team was ready to serve guests from 9am until 6pm producing some fantastic dishes on all three days. All food was sourced locally and prepared on site. We would like to give a big thank you to all our suppliers in their flexibility in delivering fresh ingredients at strange times of the morning and evening throughout the event. Well done everyone!!

Many thanks to Nae Limits who invited 2 of us to join them adventure tubing. What a laugh! We were impressed by their professionalism in ensuring we were all correctly rigged up in the right gear and took great care of our safety as we bobbed down the river rapids in little rubber rings (after we'd jumped in from a 25ft high cliff ... although that was optional)
For more information about all the adrenalin activities that Nae Limits provides have a look at their website (see our links)
We are happy to recommend them to our guests and (curtesy of Nae Limits) can offer guests last minute discounted rates. Please ask one of our staff for more details.
The chefs and assistant manager tried out the picturesque 9 hole golf course situated towards Glenshee. It boasts stunning views and some great shots with golf for all abilities (lucky really considering the golfing skills of those participating!!) We can recommend this local course and its a bargain at only £15 for 9 holes. We will be happy to book a tee time for our guests, alternatively you can call directly on 01250 885226
We are happy to announce that the new owners of the Old Barn (adjacent to our car-park) are opening their shop "River Thoughtful Fishing Books" in the next few weeks. The shop will be stocked with antiquarian, rare and second-hand fishing books, maps and prints. A must for all angling enthusiasts!

This beautiful old photograph is of Sir Harry Lauder by the River Tay at Stanley, 1934. A print of this has been kindly donated by River Thoughtful Fishing Books and is pride of place in our lounge area.
Preparation is getting underway in the kitchen as the team of chefs bring together a wide variety of well known Chinese recipes ready for our Chinese Night on Saturday 27th March.
Booking recommended ... reserve your chopsticks by calling us on 01250 886231
Another busy Mothering Sunday! Plenty of lucky Mums were treated to our exceptional Mothers Day Sunday Carvery and free flowers from us.
Although we've been getting sleet for the last couple of days, the snow is still in good condition up on Glenshee and the skiers are taking full advantage of it!
Meanwhile, we are busy putting the final touches to our Burns Supper on Sat 23rd Jan which should be entertaining.
(for further details on Burns Supper look at our Special Occasions / Events page)
It's been a great skiing day today up on Glenshee and the bar is full of happy skiers and boarders talking about their day. The A93 is cleared and gritted and the ski hire shop next to our car park is open. As for us, the hotel is open throughout the day and evening for refreshments and light snacks from 8am every morning.
Santa will be paying us a visit at about 2pm on Sunday 20th December handing out presents to all children dining with us.
Festive menu starts today and is available (in addition to A La Carte menu) from 12:00 until 9:00pm every day until 9:00pm Christmas Eve.
We will close on Christmas Eve after last orders and back to normal on Sunday 27th December until Sunday 3rd Jan when we close for our annual mini holiday. Reopening at 5pm on Friday 8th January 2010.
We have had an exciting morning watching the Intercontinental Rally Challenge 2009. All the rally cars were parked briefly in our car park before going up a track at the side of the hotel to complete the SS4 Blackcraig leg of the rally.
In association with BASC (British Association of Shooting & Conservation) we are celebrating National Taste of Game Week. Every day this week we will be offering a choice of dishes on our daily Specials menu featuring locally harvested game.
For every dish sold the Bridge of Cally Hotel will donate £1 to BASC conservation fund.
